Ground school

Looks like I'll be doing a home-study course for ground school. Colonial Flight School at JGG expects it to be several months before ground classes are organized, and the weekend crash-course ground schools are just inconvenient.

Luckily, Jeppesen produces a software-based course that goes along with the curriculum I'm on for flight instruction, and I've got the book and materials so it ought to work out.

  1. While they can be a bit campy, the King ground school videos are worth examining as well. I think they have some sample lesson clips available on their website for no charge. Cessna also offers its own homestudy course, "Cleared for Takeoff." Google that and I'm sure that you'll find a variety of vendors.

  2. Thanks, IFR Pilot. Husband has some King videos, I think, and they seemed, well, just as you described :) He also has Cessna's "Cleared for Approach" IFR home-study package.

I think I'll start with the Jep course, but who knows -- more than just Jeppesen's point of view would make for a more well-rounded learning experience.
